If you were one of the few people who missed this past Wednesday's Dollhouse Review, you totally missed one of the best shows since the Dollhouse was created a year ago! It was the perfect way to celebrate because it brought us back to the excitement of when the Dollhouse began!!
This show was also a bit different because it had 2 other featured artists! The opening act, if you will, was Rainbow Destroyer! This home town zombie duo was the perfect lead in for the show! The group sang their fan favorite "Die with Me Tonight" while throwing glitter out onto the audience!
The show started out with the Dollstars dressed as Victorian zombies doing their production number to Ramalama, which they took inspiration from So you Think You Can Dance! The whole show was filled with Gothic Horror inspired numbers which included death, metal, Chuckie, abortion, and disease!
Mimi performed to a Celine Dion song where the concept was a woman who just received word that her husband had died at war. I had the distinct pleasure of carrying the coffin onto the stage wearing a civil war costume. Mimi performed the song all the while pulling, hugging and stomping on the coffin. After her number was over the coffin remained on stage. Music started and out popped a fist holding a syringe. The crowd went wild as Miss Sharon Needles emerged from the wooden coffin!
Sharon started by performing Beautiful by Christina Aguilera and then went buck wild into Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson!! She collected her tips, threw them into a blender with some vodka of course and whipped up a money cocktail which she promptly took to center stage, drank and then spit out into the audience like a true rock star!! She even ripped up a bible and threw pages out in the audience. Audience members scrambled to get a piece!! I got the cover!! hahaha After her number Miss Needles spoke of hot the boys in Philly are and her disdain for Lady Gaga (I have so much more respect for her now!) calling her a fake! Sharon performed 2 other numbers that night including an amazing duet with Mimi Imfurst! The whole show, although went past its 2am curtain call, had the crowd screaming and TIPPING like crazy people!! In the dead middle of the show Mimi revealed the brand new backdrop of the show which included a lit up "DH" sign! Then the Dollstars performed what will now become one of their signature numbers "Bad Girls"!!
Now not to be over shadowed by all the amazing performances this was still Porcelain's birthday and if you didn't remember that during the show her last number was one that anyone in the audience will NEVER forget!! Hung by 4 fish hooks in her back Porcelain took flight wearing a custom made mermaid's tail while performing to "Part of your World" from the Little Mermaid! Suspended in the air Porcelain twisted and turned as the crowd watched in amazement! This is was definitely a performance unlike anything we have ever seen in the Dragopolis! (see the video posted on Thursday for the full performance) It was definitely a night to remember with each performance as Strong as the next! This article would go on forever if I went on about each one. So let's just get to the good stuff! Everyone involved in this show should be so proud! Here are the rest of the pictures!!
