The groundbreaking girl group XELLE is partnering with the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) for the release of their third single INVINCIBLE. This new party anthem invites you to love yourself with the perfect blend of a positive message and a strong dance beat.

THE INVINCIBLE PROJECT’s mission is to use music to increase awareness about bullying and harassment, promote safe schools for LGBT students and to encourage all young people that when they love themselves they are invincible.

According to GLSEN’s 2009 National School Climate Survey, the statistics are alarming:
  • Nearly 9 out of 10 LGBT students experience harassment in school each year.
  • 60% of LGBT students feel unsafe at school because of their sexual orientation.
  • 1 in 3 LGBT students skip school each month because of feeling unsafe.
Proceeds from the INVINCIBLE single sales will benefit GLSEN, the leading national education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students. INVINCIBLE will be released Valentines Day, February 14, 2012 on iTunes & all digital music distributors worldwide. An accompanying music video will debut exclusively on blog.glsen.org & www.XELLEmusic.com at 10pm EST.

“When I was in high school, it was bullying by my peers and being assaulted by a school personnel that lead to me being outted to my family. I then found myself homeless after being kicked out of my house for being Gay. GLSEN was one of the organizations that supported me during that time. As a member of XELLE it is important that we give back so no young person has to experience what I did” says XELLE member Mimi Imfurst.

INVINCIBLE is XELLE’s third single off their upcoming album QUEENS. It was produced by Zach Adam and was written by Zach Adam and Toni Nielson.

I got a chance to talk to Mimi about her new single and her girl group Xelle!  Here is our brief interview!

PD: Give me a little background about Xelle.  When did you form?  How did it come about?
MI: We met during a chance night of Karaoke.  I was hosting and Rony and JC came in separately and I loved both their voices, so I called them both up on stage to sing with me.  Our friend and music producer Zach Adam heard the three of us sing, and was inspired to write Party Girl for us.  The rest is history!

PD: What is the name of your new single?
MI: Our new single INVINCIBLE is a powerful song with a great message and a fierce beat!

PD:  Did Xelle have any help in writing the song?
MI: Our songs are all produced and written by our producer Zach Adam.  We always look for every song to be a stand out hit, and so far we're excited about the songs we've recorded.

PD: What were you inspirations for the song?
MI: The song was inspired by our fans.  We wanted to tell them how beautiful they are.   We want everyone to love themselves, to feel invincible.

PD: What was your inspiration for the video?
MI: The video was inspired by and dedicated to gay youth.  Bullying is a big problem, and we want to do everything we can to stop it.

PD: What do you hope people take away from this song and Xelle's music in general?
MI: XELLE's music is all about fun. Unapologetic fun.  Its pop turned up 1,000 times... its Megapop!

PD: What's next for Xelle?
MI: We're about to go into production for the music video for HOLOGRAM.  The video will be our biggest one to date.  There are tons of celebrities and a top secret concept.  You'll have to wait to find out!

PD: Will Xelle come back and perform another mini concert for your Philadelphia fans?
MI: Yes!  Once we get out of filming the next music video, we're going back out on tour!  Philly is one of our favorite cities!

PD:  Will a full cd ever be released?
MI: Yes!  We have a lot of the album recorded.  We're being strategic with the release, so you're gonna have to wait. But trust me, its worth it!

PD: What message would you like to say to your Philadelphia fans?
MI: We love all our Philly fans, why because they like great music and love to have a party- and well, thats what XELLE is all about!

In my personal opinion this is an amazing single from a music group just getting started!  With such a great concept and meaning behind it I can see this being the single that takes them to a new level!!  The video and the song get released tonight (2/14/12) at 10pm!  As you can see, the proceeds benefit a great cause!  SO GO DOWNLOAD THE SONG TONIGHT MY LITTLE DRAG HAGS!!  It is worth it!  The song just makes you feel good!!  You will be stomping those heels to beat all over the Dragopolis!!
