So Hell night for me was definitely Sunday night! 2 shows back to back in one night! The first of which was The Dharling Sister's Spooktacular Spooktacular! The show started promptly at 10:15 at Tavern On Camac and it was starring Diana and Brenda Dharling and featuring Tammy Faymous, Kendra Sparks, and Katrina Storms! The crowd was a little light but had a lot of energy. Now I, for one, love a good Dharling Sisters production and the girls did not disappoint. If I had one critique for them it would be that I would love to see some new numbers from them as a duo. I love their Chicago number (and even though I wasn't there for it I hear they did Wicked too) but I would love to see something new. They have a great chemistry on stage, so nest show ladies I crave something different! The highlight of the show for me was Diana's version of Hocus Pocus "I Put A Spell On You" also featuring Katrina Storms and Kendra Sparks as the Sanderson Sisters!! I loved the costumes and the blend of spoken word from the iconic Disney Halloween Movie and the song performed by Bette Midler! Diana at one point pulled me out of the crowd to "read" me since I love to call her the Queen of Mean! But it was all in good Halloween fun!
Brenda Dharling, as well was on point! Literally! Her high energy dancing and high kicks always gets the crowd in an uproar! Even when her chucky blinged out braclet broken during the number she played it off as a "special effect"!! I can tell this girl really has a New York state of mind now!! She is hysterical as an emcee!
Making a name for herself in the drag world, Tammy Faymous sang live, of course, a very fitting song from Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Always a crowd pleaser Tammy was working the crowd for all she was worth! Even when it fell on deaf ears Tammy kept the energy going!Katrina Storms had amazing costumes and came complete with cute back up dancers! Doing her version of Burlesque she seemed a bit nervous at first but warmed up quickly to the crowd!
Kendra Sparks also new to the scene seemed nervous during her performance but seemed to loosen up a bit more during her second number!
All in all it was a great Halloween show! Perfect to start the night out!
