I will say I was a bit worried when we first showed up at this some what drab club in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere. The curtains in the main dance floor area looked like old Diana Dharling costumes (red sequins)! There was even a futon on the dancefloor!! Who knows what happens on that! There were about 2 people dancing on the dancefloor and about 3 older ladies at the bar. And the one boy that was dancing, later made us a sandwich at the Wawa on our way home! LOL But after a couple hours of hair and makeup...have you seen these two as boys? yes it was a couple hours!....the crowd started to pick up! Hammonton's gay elite starting showing up including a couple of really cute guys!! Blaze, a favorite bartender at Bob and Barbara's was there as well as a guest bartender so we felt right at home! This some what drab little club in the middle of nowhere was acctually starting to be a lot of fun!! There was even an outdoor area that was quite charming.
The show started promptly at 11:15 with Brittany Lynn doing 2 numbers including a parody called "Your So Gay". (which she sang live and with background vocals!) Then she continued with some stand up comedy. I will say since I started this blog I have not seen a Brittany Lynn show and I didn't know what to expect but this bitch is funny! Her comedy and parodies are definitely her strong point and when she is adlibbing she is even funnier!! I could tell some of her jokes that were pre planned fell a little flat with the crowd. I however loved the koala joke Brit!! Her stand out number and the one that got the crowd going the most was her duet with a penis puppet!! Hysterical! And of course, to be expected, she also did.....anyone?....anyone?....yes Sweet Caroline! She ended the event with her singing Cher "You Haven't Seen The Last of Me" from Burlesque! She had a great costume made just like the movie and read the lyrics from her cell phone (either that or she was checking her grindr, since the show was almost over, for potential hook ups!)! LOVE IT!!! She did sound good though!!
Mrs. P did a "best of" kind of set. "Beautiful" which I don't think anyone got...haha I think they just needed some time to warm up to Mrs. P, you know she can be a lot to take in at times!! And what does Mrs. P do when the crowd isn't responding?....YES she took off all her clothes! She followed that up with everyone's favorite gross out number...."The Shit Number"!! Now the audience got it!! They were cheering and dancing along to Mrs. P and her chocolate syrup and bananas! Actually it was probably the best I had ever seen her do it. Her last number featured her little slave boy Matt in underwear and a dog collar...."How Much is That Doggie in the Window". She dragged, pulled and threw Matt, the dog, around and the crowd loved it! I mean who wouldn't!! Matt even found a couple dollars in his underwear just in time for us to get more drinks after the show was over!!
All in all the show was a great success! The night turned out to be a lot of fun! Maybe they will colaberate sometime in Philly?! Maybe some guest spots for Brittany in Mrs. P's upcoming solo show at Venture Inn starting in September? Or a Karaoke duet at Brittany's Yakatori Boy gig??!! They are only suggestions girls...but they are a great duo!
